POSITION PURPOSE:
Act as a liaison between employees and benefit companies assisting in the coordination and administration of benefits programs for Anderson County Government including but not limited to health insurance, dental insurance, flexible benefits, retirement, disability, supplemental coverages and employee assistance programs.
The goal is to ensure correct processing, distribution and management of benefits that are vital for employee retention and satisfaction.
Additionally, coordination and administration of employee leaves of absence employer law compliancy and benefit continuity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will get to:
Be a designated HIPAA Officer Coordinate the County's wellness programs Answer benefits questions, research specific questions, and respond as necessary Receive, review, and process benefits applications Communicate with representatives from benefit companies to discuss benefit/claim issues Assist with employee orientations to ensure precise interpretation of benefits is accomplished Compile benefit spreadsheet(s) Process and reconcile insurance billing Consult with retirees to review the process for continuing benefits after retirement Work closely with the payroll staff Coordination of employee leaves of absence ADA, USERRA, FMLA, disability, etc.
for benefit continuity and ensures legal compliancy as well as Employer Law compliancy Maintain leave database/spreadsheet Maintain updated employee census records with benefit information Ensure all employee change information is entered into all required databases Coordinate annual Medicare report for affected employees with medical vendor Assist with the coordination of annual Benefit Information Sessions and Open Enrollment Assist the HR Director with special projects including but not limited to branding, marketing and planning Assist with conducting internal audits Assists with the onboarding and offboarding process of new hires and termed employees Coordinates unemployment benefits with past employees Coordinator of County Wellness Programs Participates in knowledge transfer among HR staff MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor degree with 3 years of related work experience in a professional environment.
Five years of work experience in a related field can be utilized as a substitute for degree.
KEY BEHAVIORS FOR SUCCESS:
Ability to Maintain Confidentiality Deep knowledge of regulations and benefit options, as well as employee data recording.
