Caregivers provide care to seniors or persons with disabilities in their homes or other locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) Assist frail elderly and handicapped clients with homemaking tasks as indicated on the Care Plan of information, which may include tasks not specifically outlined on the Services Offered handout but are necessary to provide the needed care for an individual case.
Some of the essential functions may include:
Assists clients with mobility and mobility devices.
Assists clients using proper transfer techniques.
Assists clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting).
Assists clients with meals or meal preparation.
Assists clients by providing medication reminders.
Assists clients with housekeeping tasks.
Reports and records changes in residents' health, social or safety concerns.
Efficiently uses time to complete assigned work.
Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with clients, families, and other SCHAS staff.
Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the client.
Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
Complies with the attendance policy.
Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene, and appropriate attire.
Encourages teamwork through cooperative interaction with other SCHAS staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Be responsible for personal transportation, including maintaining car insurance per agency policy.
Maintain compliance with the agency policy regarding client transportation.
Accepts and fulfills client assignments per agency policy.
Works exactly the number of hours assigned.
Be responsible for notifying office when unable to work via email ( email protected ) or phone call (1-866-781-7095) to the scheduling department.
Office number is answered 24 hours a day.
Be responsible for accurately completing and turning in weekly time sheets by 9 AM each Monday to assure prompt payroll payment and billing.
Attend twelve (12) In-Service training hourly sessions per year.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS Employees must be capable of comprehending written, verbal, and visual information.
He/she must have the ability to relate to and maintain good relationships with older and disabled persons.
Position requires a telephone, a smart phone or GPS, automobile insurance with at least $50,000 liability insurance coverage, and valid Tennessee Driver's license.
Criminal background check is required.
Personal and employer references are required.
Previous housekeeping and personal care experience required.
Willingness to learn and adapt to people of different cultures, economic levels, and educational backgrounds is essential, as is willingness to meet the education requirements of the agency according to policy.
