##### Job Introduction
Accountable for the overseeing the Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities in support of production of the Laser department while improving the efficiency of plant operations. Coordinate laser fixture layouts for optimum efficiency of machine capacity and manpower, Proper maintenance of the laser equipment and spare part planning.
##### Major Responsibilities
Responsibility for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative

Optimize laser cell layouts using material flow logic while incorporating operator ergonomics

Implement Lean Manufacturing methods & principles
3
Assist in development and implementation of work standardization techniques
4
Design projects using CAD systems
5
Make equipment recommendations and participate in design specifications in support of new programs to ensure successful launch
6
Record & monitor results of process improvement effects on efficiency, machine up-time, scrap, and other indicators
7
Train shop floor team members, maintenance, and supervision on operation of Trumpf laser equipment
8
Encourage employee participation and assist with recognition of achievements
9
Help Eagle Bend achieve cost-saving goals in alignment with business plan
10
Participate in engineering review for optimum efficiency and reduction of waste
11
Support engineering personnel with new program development, run part simulations, collision simulation, and other laser software programs
12
Seek cost reduction opportunities and workplace safety enhancements
13
Develop & improve reporting systems
14
Housekeeping & other duties as assigned
##### Knowledge and Education
Education:
1
Industrial Engineering degree preferred (4 year B.S. university or college) or Associate degree in Automation required; 3 year laser experience required
Technical Education:
1
PLC classes / Automation classes
2
Laser programming / Auto CAD
3
GDT classes / general maintenance
4
Manufacturing operations, supervisory and/or related technical experience
##### Work Experience
Qualifications:
1
2-5 years' experience in Laser operations (preferably Trumpf brand), Automation, and/or related technical experience
2
CADesign for manufacturing
3
Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD software
4
CNC Programming experience
##### Skills and Competencies
Skills:
1
Must understand laser operations and process they relate to engineering
2
Strong organizational, planning, written and verbal communication skills
3
Individual must be able to interface with team members at all levels of the organization including management, engineers, supervisors, technicians, and manufacturing operators
4
May require additional hours worked on different shifts
5
Excellent math skills , blue print reading , Auto CAD, SolidWorks 3D
6
G-code knowledge and experience
7
Ability to read, write, and speak English

Working Conditions:

Ability to access data stored on LAN (Local Area Network) and PC (Personal Computer)
2
Extended sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required
3
Must be able to move throughout facilities
4
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. may be required
5
This individual will work closely with both production team members and with engineering, spending a majority of their time directly on the shop floor
