Machinist II - Mazak CNC Mill - Afternoon and Night Shifts

Job Profile
Operate Mazak CNC machine using Master CAM program to make new details for dies, fixtures, and welders and to assist Tool and Die makers in repair and maintenance of progressive and hand-transfer, stamping, and hot stamping dies for automotive customers

Job Responsibilities
Program, set-up, and operate state-of-the-art Mazak CNC machine using Master CAM software
3D modeling including programming and set-up of machines(s) and wire EDM
Machine die & fixture details to extremely tight tolerances
Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to machine die and weld fixture details
Ability to use & interpret white-light data for design & surfacing modifications
Support all departments with machining needs
Assure safe operation and care of lathes, drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders, etc.
Assist Tool and Die Makers in die repair and maintenance
Set up and operate all Tool room equipment without assistance
Train Apprentice Tool and Die Makers on advanced machining skills
Remanufacture complex die components using reverse engineering disciplines
Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions
Support a safe and healthful work environment free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors
Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection
Know and follow all applicable SH&E Policies and Procedures
Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

Education
High school graduate or equivalent
Vocational school desirable
Documented technical training in Machining field (certificate)
Completed 4 year Apprenticeship Program, Journeyman or equivalent
Machine Shop
Blueprint reading
CNC Programming
Advanced mathematics (trigonometry)

Experience & Abilities
CNC Programming, CNC Set-up, CNC Operation (3-5 years, preferably in automotive)
Programming, Set-up and Operation of WEDM (3-5 years)
Experience in manual machining, lathe, mill, grinders, etc. (3-5 years)
Ability to read complex tool and die designs and prints
Basic and advanced math skills required (trigonometry)
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to communicate well with others
Ability to use precise measuring equipment
Excellent teamwork skills required
Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable
Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others' safety
Ability to work overtime as required
