Quality Manager

We are experts in Stamping, Hot Stamping, Laser cutting, Welding & Assembly of body & structural systems, impact-absorption high-strength steel components & light-weight alternatives for major OEM's in North America Job Introduction The Quality Manager is accountable to assure the highest quality organization and product possible, meeting or exceeding customer expectations and assuring IATF16949 & ISO14001 compliance of business/quality systems Major Responsibilities o Serve as Management Representative for IATF16949 (Quality System) Audit o Measure level of quality and provide management with accurate and timely data o Raise quality level by reducing rejected PPM (Parts Per Million) toward goal of zero defects o Interface directly with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customer representatives on quality concerns/issues o Lower cost of quality while closing out Corrective Action Requests (CAR's) o Coordinate efforts of production and tool room personnel to reduce scrap o Manage Quality Assurance department to shift trend from detection mode to prevention mode o Implement and promote problem-solving throughout the organization, including SPC (Statistical Process Control) training o Ensure compliance with Mafact (Magna Factory Concept) internal standards of operation o Develop and implement Continuous Improvement activities which affect our Quality and Environmental systems o Serve as Volkswagen Product Safety representative (PSB is the customer designation for this responsibility) o Work with Engineering personnel on Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new programs o Ensure manufacturing is adequately supported through effective quality department support o Housekeeping and other activities as assigned o Occasional travel with overnight stay required Knowledge and Education Bachelor's Degree (BS) from a four-year college or university Related quality systems experience and/or training Metallurgy training and welding/weld characteristics training Work Experience Quality Engineer and/or Quality Managerexperience within a tier-one automotive supplier setting, preferably metal fabrication 8-10 years of progressively increased responsibility for quality management systems Skills and Competencies Experienced with Quality Systems and IATF16949 system requirements Internal auditing experience Compliance with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standardized methods Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others' safety Excellent teamwork skills required; ability to work overtime as required Excellent verbal and written communication skills required Ability to read, write, speak English Ability to manage multiple priorities for various customers (internal & external). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
